Storylines Janice Marriott Mentoring Award is open for entries.

Submission Guidelines

• Submissions must be in the form of a one-page synopsis of the planned novel and two sample chapters.
• Submissions may be single-spaced and double-sided.
• Open to unpublished writers who have not published any junior or young adult fiction.
• Writers must meet the New Zealand residency requirements.

Judges: Janice Marriott and a panel of two Storylines judges

Entry fee: $40 (non-member) and $20 (member)

Prize: The award consists of six-months’ mentoring by Janice Marriott for a New Zealand writer who has not published any junior or young adult fiction.

Deadline: 31 October 2025.
