Kerry Drewery


Kerry Drewery is a YA writer published by HarperCollins Children’s and Hot Key Books with work translated into more than a dozen languages. Her novels have been nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal, awarded ‘Highly Commended’ at the North East Teen Books, and her latest – Cell 7 – was shortlisted for CrimeFest Teen Crime of the Year and won Spellbinding Book of the Year. She’s been teaching creative writing for over six years for various organisations including First Story and Writing East Midlands on both long projects and shorter ones. She has a First Class Honours degree in Professional Writing with Lancaster University, and was awarded a place on a BBC Writing Drama residential after being short-listed in a scriptwriting competition. She has guest lectured at Grimsby University Centre and is soon to take up a temporary teaching post at Manchester Metropolitan University.
