NZSA Laura Solomon Cuba Press Prize

The NZSA Laura Solomon Cuba Press Prize is open until January 31, 2021.

Open to writers who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

The winner will receive a cash award of $1000 as an advance and a publishing contract with The Cuba Press.

The prize is open to writing across genres i.e. fiction, creative non-fiction, memoir, poetry, children’s writing, and drama. The prize is judged within the criteria set by Laura Solomon, for new writing with a ‘unique and original vision’.

The manuscript must be complete and must be an unpublished work of between 40,000 and 100,000 words. Poetry manuscripts should be 70 to 100 pages in length.

Entry fee: $25 for NZSA members, $50 for non-members
